Some really good descriptive parts but in other places felt more contrived, This is the story of the Casey brothers, Johnny, Ed and Liam and their wives and families. Enjoyable, but too bloody long. It started off well and I loved the opening chapters at the dinner party, but after that I struggled to engage with the characters and the story.

I will admit that I have liked this more than I thought I would. Many teenagers drop out of school and join gangs, and every kid knows someone who died. I had to tell him to use appropriate school language, but his recommendation got some other kids to pick it up. This is a big book (656 pages) about a big messy Irish family where the children are all behaving, but the grown-ups not so much. Some of them may not be beneficial for everybody I.e.
