The question is, which ones? I don’t think it needs to be though. In a 2018 poll from Ranker, “Twilight” was voted worst movie of all time. I find this hilarious because I’m pretty conservative and don’t find these books “overly sexual.” Yes, Bella wants to have sex with Edward, but they don’t till after marriage, and the sex is never dramatized or even summarized. According to the Office for Intellectual Freedom, at least 46 of the Radcliffe Publishing Course Top 100 Novels of the 20th Century have been the target of ban attempts. BETH: Ahhh, Twilight, what a blast from the past!

The truth is, I don't believe in banning books once you reach the high school level. All fluff and fun, no substance. Stephanie Meyer is proud Mormon and her beliefs (like most authors) are reflected in her writing. As always, we’ll be looking at why the book was challenged, how/if things have changed since the book was originally published and our own opinions on the book.

In fact, the only adjectives I couldn’t apply to them were “evil-promoting,” “devil-worshiping,” and “morals-destroying.” I bought books 3, 4, and 5. 3.

Kind of makes you think, though... you said in a whole bunch of posts how you hated Twilight to no end, so I was wondering what you would do if Twilight got banned. At least Harry Potter doesn't have Mary Sues nor any Garys at all. You ban books because they contain explicit subject matter and it won't be appropriet for children.

Here are some reasons why Taylor Lautner doesn’t want to continue acting.

Yet, if you try to talk about sex or have serious discussions on the topic people get embarrassed and shy. I'd like to adress the following to Zodiac Twelve: You don't like Twilight, it's obvious and I can respect that.

When I first thought about the reasons why someone might challenge this book, I immediately thought vampires in the same way that people are against Roald Dahl’s The Witches and Harry Potter for the whole witchy/wizardy aspect. I just wish Twilight could be banned without any problems, such as the banning of good books, but, unfortunately, that's not how it is in this world.

Twilight should not be banned from schools because it is the best movie and book ever and it is not that bad for our kids to read!!!!

I read it when it first came out to see what all the fuss was about but was interested to see what my thoughts would be over ten years afterwards. And I read them. I'm picturing widespread panic, chaos, and revolts caused by deranged fans... or something similar in that vein.

Parents should just TALK to their kids about this book.

why was twilight banned

There were twilight dolls and kids toys being sold. No, it’s not the best written book in the world but it’s perfect for teenagers if that’s what they fancy.

Order of the Phoenix had come out, my children were getting older, and the series was getting harder to ignore. Well, I might join in on the protests. Who would consider Bella a role model if he or she knew better? He began supplying the police with information for raids on sex trade merchants and earned a reputation with his anti-obscenity crusade. Edward watches Bella in her sleep, big friggin deal. It’s really been around since the 19th century.

Why "Twilight" is Worse Than Just a Bad Book Fear of your lover should never be an aphrodisiac. ! \”Eclipse\” has sold more than 4.5 millions copies and \”Breaking Dawn\” (2008) broke a first-day sales record, selling 1.3 million copies in its first day, according to Hachette Book Group USA. In 2014 the first novel in the series was banned again for religious viewpoint and for being unsuited for the age group.

The first book in the series has sold 17 million copies worldwide and earned a number of awards, including The New York Times Editor\’s choice.
